Physical Abuse

  • Any type of Violent Torture, Assault, Bodily Harm or Humiliation
  • Involves contact intended to cause Bodily Harm, Physical Pain, Injury, or Suffering
  • Torturous acts of Inflicting intolerable Physical or Psychological pain
  • Beatings, Violence, Unfair Discipline, Cruel Bodily Harm, Infliction of Pain or Pressure
  • Symptoms of Depression, Emotional Distress, and/or Suicidal Ideation are common features of people who have been physically abused.

Physical Abuse Includes:

  • Striking
  • Punching
  • Pushing
  • Pulling
  • Kicking
  • Strangling
  • Drowning
  • Sleep deprivation
  • Food deprivation
  • Making someone fall
  • Exposure to electric shock
  • Exposure to a toxic substance
  • Exposure to a dangerous animal
  • Exposure to cold or freezing temperatures
  • Exposure to heat, radiation or burning
  • Infecting with a disease
  • Throwing or shooting a projectile
  • Placing in “stress positions” (tied or forced)
  • Cutting or exposing someone to a sharp item
  • Violent torture inflicting pain or injury
