What is Abuse?

Abuse means:

  • To misuse, to use up, or to use improperly
  • To hurt or injure by maltreatment; ill-use
  • Improper or excessive use or treatment, handling; misuse, etc…
  • To force sexual activity on; rape or molest
  • A corrupt practice or custom
  • To assail with contemptuous, coarse, or insulting words; revile
  • Insulting or coarse language that condemns or vilifies unjustly, intemperately, and angrily
  • To consume, to use wrongly or improperly; misuse
  • A deceitful act: Deception. To deceive or trick
  • Physical maltreatment
  • Physical or mental Cruelty

The effects of abuse can be devastating and long lasting. Many people never get the help that they need because they have many reasons for staying. Peace Foundations will offer these victims the opportunity and the necessary resources they have desperately needed so they can leave and recover.
